Refurbishment of Kofiase SDA school

Rationale and planning

We received a request to refurbish a school in Kofiase and visited in December 2025, and talked to the staff. The school is in a sorry state, with missing doors and windows and crumbling plaster, but the underlying structure is sound. It seems a worthwhile cause and we have included it in our 2026 programme.

The exterior of the building shows missing and broken doors, crumbling and unplastered walls throughout. One classroom has a door that has fallen off its hinges entirely. Inside, pupils learn in classrooms with unplastered walls and damaged floors.

What we propose

We will carry out a full refurbishment of the school building: replacing missing doors and windows, replastering where needed, and repainting throughout.

We also propose to roof the part of the building that’s lacking a roof. It measures 4m by 3m.
