FAQ

How can I apply? By completing the application form below. You can give the completed form to Hon. Kwasi Alare, or Ms Vivian Danso, or you can email it to info@turboghana.org

Do I have to have completed schooling? Not necessarily. Your attitude, aptitude, and prior experience are as important as your schooling.

Do I have to have experience? It will help your application if you have experience. If you are not already experienced in the trade, try to get some experience before you apply.

Where will the apprenticeships be held? Do I have to live in Mampong or Nsuta? The apprenticeships will be held in Nsuta or Aframano. We may accept some other nearby locations (please discuss with Hon. Kwasi Alare or Ms Vivian Danso). If you don’t live near, we may be able to help with accommodation in Nsuta.

What if I already have a job or business? Then you can’t apply for an apprenticeship (we only take apprentices who will work full-time).

Can I do the apprenticeship part-time? No, these are full-time apprenticeships.

Are there age or gender restrictions? No.

What trades are included in the scheme? We currently have builders, electricians, tailors, and tilers. Other trades are considered too.

When can I start? If your application is successful, you can probably start in December 2025.

How does Turbo Ghana monitor the apprentice’s performance? Every month, your trainer sends Turbo Ghana a report, saying what you have learned that month, how your performance was, and how many days you worked. Your monthly stipend is paid only after we receive the report from your trainer.

Is there a probation period? There is no formal probation period, but your performance is evaluated continuously throughout the apprenticeship. As well as the report from the trainer, our apprenticeship monitor will also visit your workplace each month, and write a report. If the reports about you are not satisfactory, we will terminate your apprenticeship and give it to someone else.

Can my brother/sister/friend have an apprenticeship too? Yes, they can also apply, and if they are successful they can have an apprenticeship too. Everyone must apply by themselves.

Why is Turbo Ghana doing this? To support youth opportunities in Ghana.

How many apprenticeships are there? Turbo Ghana currently has 9 apprentices, and we may take another 8-10 in November. So there are not many, and therefore you need to write a convincing application.

What does Turbo Ghana pay for? We pay the training fee, the fee for tools or equipment, and a monthly stipend. We also pay your exam fees.

How can I find out more about the scheme? Ask Hon. Kwasi Alare or Ms Vivian Danso. They can introduce you to an existing apprentice so you can discuss informally. You can also email Turbo Ghana.

Do I have to complete the application form? Yes, we will only consider you if you have completed the application form correctly. You can write a covering letter or attach more information if you want.

When should I submit the form? You must submit it by the deadline, which is 1 October 2025.

Do I need a computer or phone to complete the application form? No, you can ask Ms Vivian Danso or Hon. Kwasi Alare to give you a paper form, and you can complete it with pen. If you have a computer or phone or you can go to an internet cafe, we will be very pleased if you complete it by typing your answers.
